Chirp Chips Review
I am the perfect target for companies advertising new products. Whether i am watching tv, or at the movie theater using my Movie Pass (Unlimited movies in theaters for $9.95 a month) or walking through the subways of New York, if i see an ad for a product that piques my interest, I am on a mission to find it! My partner tells me all the time, I am an advertiser’s dream! Whether it’s a new exciting product or a new yummy edible creation, i am bound to want to try it! This happens often, i guess you can say it’s my guilty pleasure!
The case in point this time is a product I saw advertised on an episode of Shark Tank! It was a weekend day and my partner and I were watching a marathon of Shark Tank. Nothing better in the winter then staying home and cuddling and binge watching tv. I absolutely love Shark Tank and a lot of times I see products on the show that I’m excited about that are pitched and get a deal from one of the Sharks. Immediately I’m intrigued and it’s like a game to find it and try it, so i begin my scavenger hunt to find it! This Mission: Chirp Chips!
Before I explain what Chirp Chips are, I did a google search to find out what stores carried it and i checked several with no luck! After a little more research, i found the product on an online retailer which is an affiliate of mealswithmark called Thrive Market! Thrive Market specializes in natural and organic products at reduced costs! So it’s a win win situation! It’s healthy and by ordering through Thrive you save $$$ too!
Chirp Chips pitched on Shark Tank and got an offer with Mark Cuban for a partnership! They are ultimately chips made with crickets!!! Yes you read the right, chips made with bugs!
Chirps are the very first cricket chip, made with a wholesome mix of stone ground corn, beans, chia seeds, and of course cricket protein! There is one cricket per chip! Most chips on the market are just carbs, but Chirps are packed with nutrients! Chirp chips use cricket protein which packs the chips with protein and fiber, while also adding a nutty, crunchy, and delicious flavor in every bite! Chirps are full of protein, 30% less fat than regular chips, gluten free, soy free, non-gmo, and all natural! Chirp Chips concept is simple. More protein and less fat!
Sounds gross thinking about bugs, so your probably thinking to yourself why crickets? I know i had the same reaction too until i heard the Chirp Chip pitch and tried them! They are beyond delicious and nutritious! Best of both worlds! The reason for the crickets they are healthy, sustainable, and delicious. They have more protein than beef! As far as sustainability, It also takes 2,000 gallons of water to make 1lb of meat and only 1 gallon to make 1lb of cricket!
I was pleasantly surprised trying these chips. They were very tasty and crunchy the way I like my chips! The cricket flour (which is great for my gluten free friends Adam and Cheryl) adds a unique flavor to the chips, but I mean that in a good way!
I purchased two flavors. The BBQ and cheddar! The BBQ was by far the more flavorful and tasty out of the two! These innovative chips pair well with Marks soon to be famous tuna melt and the ultimate grilled cheese! Or simply enjoy them by themselves as a snack!
