Mark’s Soon to be Famous Tuna Melt
SERVES: 2 TOTAL TIME: 10-15 MINS
½ cup of shredded sharp cheddar Cheese
½ cup of shredded gruyere cheese
3 TBSP of Hellman’s Mayonnaise
TSP of Dijon Mustard
TBSP of Dill Weed
TBSP of Capers drained and rinsed
Four slices of your favorite sandwich bread (I use Seedless RYE bread)
In a mixing bowl using a fork-Mix the tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, dill weed, and capers. Mix well.
In a separate small bowl mix the two cheeses
Take four slices of desired bread-On two slices pile tuna blend evenly on each
(there will be some leftover)
Then top that same two slices with the tuna mix with a handful of the cheese mix and cover the two slices with the other two slices.
In a large frying pan on medium low heat melt two tablespoons of butter when melted switch temperature to low.
Add The two sandwiches to the pan. Brown on low heat until a golden crisp when golden remove from pan. Add more butter to the pan once melted, add sandwiches back to the pan and brown on low heat the other side until golden crisp. Now remove sandwiches from pan and plate them. Serve sandwiches in halves.
