Top 5 Must Visit Dessert Destinations:
167 West 74th Street
I have been going to Levain Bakery for three years now! Levain by far hae the best cookies that I have every tried. $4 a cookie, but so worth it! It is a fairly big cookie and it is moist and chewy in the middle. I recommend the double chocolate peanut butter and the oatmeal raisin. They are my two favorites, but you can not go wrong with any of the cookies! Sometimes you might have to wait in a long line, but it is so worth the wait! You won’t be disappointed. Definitely come prepared to fall in love with these cookies!
Rice to Riches
37 Spring St
I discovered Rice to Riches after brunch with my partner and our friend Adam when we were walking around SOHO window shopping one Sunday afternoon. When we walked in I fell in love with the decor of the place with their colorful artwork and quirky laughable sayings on the wall! To easily sum of Rice to Riches, they serve plastic bowlfuls of homemade rice pudding in unusual flavors. I recommend the TAKE ME TO TIRAMISU or HONEY GRAHAM FOR MR. SMITH. The flavors and the taste of the rice pudding were amazing and they are great to share, so you can try different flavors.
Dominique Ansel Bakery
189 Spring Street
This bakery & cafe is headed by famous pastry chef Dominique Ansel and serves up creative & beautiful French treats. They are the creator and home of the original Cronut! Half croissant, half donut! Full amazing! If you do nothing else when you come to New York, you need to try a Cronut! Then bring some cronuts home and some of there other amazing french treats.
342 E 11th St
The oldest Italian Bakery in New York city. Veniero’s Bakery has been around since 1894. Must haves are there cannoli’s and Pignoli Cookies. When i first laid eyes on the pignoli cookies i was kind of grossed out by the maggot look to them, but after one bite i was hooked! Best pignoli cookies in New York hands down!
401 Bleeker St.
Although it’s a tourist trap, Magnolia Bakery is the go to destination for cupcakes! They are probably the most popular cupcake location in the city! Grab a cupcake and a cup of hot chocolate while checking out the city lights and decorations in the store fronts on fifth avenue! Their cupcakes are moist and delicious! If cupcakes are not your thing, the banana pudding is out of this world! So amazing you will want seconds!
